National Artificial Intelligence Policy 2026-2030 (Draft V2.0)
What is National Artificial Intelligence Policy 2026-2030?
A revised draft national AI policy published by the ICT Division for public review. It proposes a risk-based approach to AI regulation with prohibitions on certain uses, impact assessments for high-risk systems, and institutional arrangements for coordination and capacity building. Public consultation on the draft closed in February 2026 and the committee is reviewing submissions before finalisation.
Status note: An earlier draft National AI Policy 2024 (April 2024) existed on the ICT Division portal but that URL now returns 404, so it is not recorded. Final adoption not yet confirmed as of access date.
